Investigating the Performance of a Laboratory Dynamometer for a Three-wheeler Engine Test Rig

The dynamometer is to mimics driving condition in an indoor controlled measuring engine output parameters like speed, torque, power, combustion conditions and exhaust compositions. However, the complexity dynamics involved making of this instrument makes it unaffordable for student research except funded. This work reports innovative method adopted measure a three-wheeler parameters. An automobile vehicle dynamo was which requires low speed outputs high torque. Driving were incorporated as brakes terrains experienced by engine. A data acquisition unit capable converting electrical signals into readable values on screen user interface PC completed development. then calibrated against known mounted test rig used torque energy dissipated.
